      Barney Baker Adams was born 15 September 1896 in Middleton, Tennessee, the son of Jack and Sally Adams.  Barney married Annis Catterton and their children were Aletha Adams and Eldred Kyle Adams.   Barney left Camp Pike on 24 July 1918 going to Camp Merritt.  He left there 2 August 1918, on the USS Levithian headed for France.  He arrived in Brest, France, on 11 August 1918.   The Armistice was signed 11 November 1918, but he remained in France until 27 June 1919.   Barney left Brest on the USS Siboney returning to the United States.   He arrived in Newport News, Virginia, on 5 July 1919 and then arrived at Camp Pike at 4:30 PM on 15 July 1919.  

        Barney's occupations included railroading, sawmilling and farming and his hobbies were hunting and fishing.   

      Barney Baker Adams died 26 November 1963 and is buried in Union Grove Cemetery.
