            The following information was provided in a scrapbook news clipping (date unknown) that Mrs. Aletha (Doyle) Brown donated to the Cross County Veterans Memorial Museum.

            Third Class Petty Officer William J. Anderson, who before entering the service, made his home with Huston Davis on Highway 64, is now on leave for a few weeks visiting friends in this section.

            Mr. Anderson has just completed nine months’ service in the South Pacific and came here from San Diego, where he had been confined to a hospital receiving treatment for malaria.    He is a former CCC boy.

            Anyone who has additional information on his family or military service is asked to contact the Cross County Veterans Memorial Committee.
