James M. Gardner

            James Madison Gardner was born to Menta and Mabel Eubanks Gardner on April 4, 1925 in Wynne, Arkansas.   He grew up with two sisters, Jean and Helen.    After graduating from Wynne High School, he attended the University of Arkansas and received his law degree in 1949.    He was an active member of the American and Arkansas Bar Associations and received the State Bar Lawyer - Citizen Award in 1981.

            James served in the Army in Italy from 1943-1946.   In 1943 he was stationed at Camp Fannin, Tyler, Texas

            In 1949 he began his law practice in Blytheville, Arkansas and lived there until his death.   He was active in the Boy Scouts of America, the Mississippi County Historical Society, the American Cut Glass Association plus many civic and church organizations.

            James was married to Martha Ann Lintzenich and they were the parents of three children: Gail, Danny and Jeff.    After Martha’s death he married Fannora Abbott and had two step children: Poly Bakker and Dave Abbott.

            James Madison Gardner died 29 June 2005 in Jonesboro, Arkansas and was buried at Blytheville, Arkansas.
