        “Menta G. Gardner (1890-1971), second Lt. of the US Infantry World War I, a farmer and livestockman, Vanndale.   He was the son of Cassius Madison and Helen Halk Gardner, husband of  Mabel Eubanks Gardner and Varee Bogard Gardner, father of Jeanne LeFevre, Helen Gardner and James M.
