Cecil Glenn was born 9 January 1927 at Fisher, Arkansas, the
son of Earl and Evelyn Lady Urie Glenn. He grew up in the Fair Oaks
Community with two brothers: A.E. "Tinker" and Herschel M.
Prior to entering military service, Cecil worked on the farm.
Cecil was inducted into the Army 12 June 1945 at Camp Robinson, Arkansas and worked as a Supply Clerk.
He qualified on the S30 Caliber Rifle M-I and departed the United States 6 December 1945 for the European Theater.
Cecil served in the Medical Corps in Germany most of the time.
He returned to the States 12 November 1946 and was discharged 18 November 1946
at the Separation Center, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Cecil received the World War II Victory Medal and the Occupation Ribbon ETO.
Cecil returned to the Fisher/Wynne, Arkansas area and worked as a farmer for many years.
On November 12, 1977, Cecil married Linda Dolores Davis and they had five sons: Randal Cecil; Harold Eugene; Patrick Perry; William Gerald and Christopher Bryan Ishmael and three daughters: Amanda Denise; Erin Elizabeth and Lisa Ann.
He was a member of the
American Legion Post and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Cross
County. His hobbies included fishing and hunting as long as health
permitted.
Cecil Glenn died 20 December 2000 and was buried in the Fisher Cemetery of Fisher, Arkansas.
