Confederate Army
1862-1864

Alonzo Christopher Shaver was born 8 October 1844, in Bay Village, Arkansas, the son of William Ashley and Matlide Stone Shaver.     He passed his boyhood days in assisting on the farm and in attending the common schools, although he received the principal part of his education by his individual efforts.
