     Marvin Dalton Shaver was born 10 November 1925 in Marianna, Arkansas, the third child of Neal, Sr. and Ludie Dye Shaver. He grew up with one brother, Neal, Jr., and two sisters, Jean and Elizabeth. He attended schools in Cherry Valley and Jonesboro, Arkansas and received a BSE from Arkansas State University in 1950.
    Dalton was inducted into the Navy 10 March 1944 and was discharged 21 March 1946 at Memphis, Tennessee.
    Dalton taught school and served as Principal at the Vanndale School and taught Social Studies and Science at the Wynne Schools. In 1955 he became a Rural Letter Carrier with the United State Postal Service in Wynne and after thirty plus years of service, he retired. Dalton served as State Secretary and as State Steward for the Arkansas Rural Letter Carriers Association.
    Dalton married Mary Woodyard and they were the parents of one son, Marvin Thomas "Tommy" and two daughters, Dyeann and Mary Jo. His hobbies were hunting and fishing.
    Marvin Dalton Shaver died 21 August 1988 and was buried in Jonesboro Memorial Cemetery, Jonesboro, Arkansas.
